Governor Henry McMaster appoints Byron David to the Horry Georgetown Technical College’s governing board.  Mr. David is a lawyer with deep roots in the Horry and Georgetown counties.

“I am humbled to be recommended for service by our legislative delegation and to receive Governor McMaster’s appointment.  I love HGTC and am grateful for the opportunity to serve on the Area Commission,” states David.  “HGTC is an economic powerhouse for our community and touches all our lives.  We are blessed to have the College here educating our residents and producing a skilled workforce.  President Fore and the administration are doing an exceptional job adapting to our area’s evolving workforce needs and I am extremely excited get to work to help.”

Attorney David holds Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctorate degrees from the University of South Carolina. He lives in Myrtle Beach with his wife Brooke and their two sons and is enthusiastic about serving. Mr. David’s appointment commenced this year and expires July 1, 2026.
